Bahamas passport renewal: prepare your application
Start a Bahamian e-passport renewal from MyGateway’s Passport Office service and check the live application’s eligibility and supporting-document checklist. The passport photograph has its own requirements and approval process; a scan of the old passport is a different attachment.
Prepare the official request
- Open the Passport Office service from MyGateway and read the current renewal instructions.
- Check the document and applicant details against the existing passport before entering them.
- Obtain a compliant digital photograph. The service specifies a recent photograph, a plain white or off-white background and no selfies.
- Upload each item to its own requested field and review the application before paying.
- Save the application reference, payment confirmation and collection instructions.
Keep the right evidence
The official page describes separate regular and expedited service options, with different arrangements for New Providence and the Family Islands. Check the option offered for your application rather than planning travel around an assumed delivery date.
A passport-page reference scan and a passport photograph serve different purposes. Do not use a document converter to claim that a photograph meets the Passport Office’s specifications. Check the final photo and every identity field before submission.
If a recipient accepts a personal working copy, you can prepare an accepted reference scan as a PDF. The result is an image-based PDF. It does not preserve selectable text, interactive fields or an original digital signature. Keep this output separate from any original, certified copy or unchanged official file required for submission.
