TCI Labour Clearance: organise the evidence
TCI’s Work Permits page limits Labour Clearance to employed-person applications and says clearance is issued internally if approved. Prepare the relevant new or renewal evidence with the employer; do not assume a separate preliminary clearance filing is required.
Prepare the official request
- Confirm the employed-person permit route and the current filing instructions with the employer. The Work Permits page says approved Labour Clearance is issued internally.
- Choose the new-application or renewal evidence list on the official Labour Clearance page.
- Prepare the covering letter and the relevant completed application or existing permit evidence.
- Match the applicant’s passport page to the application details.
- Obtain the police and medical records issued within six months, as stated in the clearance checklist.
- Gather employer identity or business-licence evidence and the required recruitment advertisements and employment materials.
- Review the complete dossier with the employer before filing and keep a submission record.
Keep the right evidence
Applicant identity and the employer’s recruitment evidence answer different questions. A passport copy cannot replace proof of advertising, and an advertisement cannot establish the applicant’s lawful status. Keep the source and date of every item clear.
The renewal list identifies the original work permit card and proof of legal immigration status. The new-application list includes a completed employment contract and recruitment evidence. Follow the list for the actual case rather than combining every possible item into an assumed universal checklist.
If a recipient accepts a personal working copy, you can prepare an accepted reference scan as a PDF. The result is an image-based PDF. It does not preserve selectable text, interactive fields or an original digital signature. Keep this output separate from any original, certified copy or unchanged official file required for submission.
For the related employed-person filing, see TCI work permit documents. For the police record, see requesting a Certificate of Character.
Questions
Are the new and renewal lists identical?
No. The official page separates them and names different existing-permit and employment evidence.
Can a single passport scan satisfy Labour Clearance?
No. The official lists also require employer, recruitment and other applicant evidence.
Does preparing files mean clearance has been granted?
No. Preparation and submission are steps in the authority’s review; retain and follow the official decision.
