TCI passport renewal: original identity evidence
For a TCI BOTC passport application, use the official Passport Office form and prepare the original identity documents required for your circumstances. The page says ordinary photocopies, certified copies and laminated documents are not accepted in place of those originals.
Prepare the official request
- Confirm your passport category and whether the case is renewal, loss, theft or another change.
- Download the official form and print it as instructed, single-sided and without stapling it.
- Prepare the original civil and nationality evidence applicable to your birth or registration circumstances.
- Obtain two compliant photographs and the required countersignature on the form and one photograph.
- For a lost or stolen previous passport, complete the separate notification and obtain the police report required by the page.
- Confirm the submission arrangement, pay through the official route and keep the receipt.
Keep the right evidence
A certified copy can be acceptable in some other government procedures while still being insufficient for this passport checklist. Apply the rule of the receiving office to each document. Do not assume that a permit dossier’s copy standard carries over to a passport application.
Keep an inventory of original certificates and the passport handed over. Confirm current processing directly with the office before planning travel; the public page contains different historic timing statements. A phone copy remains a reference, not a travel document.
If a recipient accepts a personal working copy, you can prepare an accepted reference scan as a PDF. The result is an image-based PDF. It does not preserve selectable text, interactive fields or an original digital signature. Keep this output separate from any original, certified copy or unchanged official file required for submission.
For a related official request, see Certificate of Character. For a permit dossier’s different evidence rules, see TCI work permits.
Questions
Are certified photocopies enough for the original identity requirement?
The passport page expressly says originals are required and rejects photocopies, certified copies and laminated documents for that requirement.
What if the old passport was stolen?
The official page requires the Lost and Stolen form and a police report about the incident.
Can Dokus replace the original passport?
No. Dokus stores personal reference copies. Passport issue and travel identity remain with the official document and authority.
