Ask your employer or permit agent whether a marked pre-check copy is acceptable. Add the recipient, work-permit review purpose and date to the passport or police-record reference scan.

Confirm whether a pre-check copy is needed

The government work-permit and Labour Clearance pages do not confirm that an employer or agent requests or accepts a watermarked or redacted pre-check copy. Start with the question without an identity attachment. Make a separate altered reference copy only after the recipient explicitly requests it and accepts the changes. Certified filing evidence and any required originals remain separate.

Label an accepted pre-check copy

The official permit process requires certified evidence. If your employer or agent accepts a separate reference scan for a pre-check, a purpose label can identify that particular recipient and review.

How to watermark the agent’s accepted pre-check copy

  1. Confirm that the employer or agent accepts a marked reference scan.
  2. Open the requested passport or police-record image. Enter “Reference copy for [agent], [employer] work-permit pre-check, [date]”.
  3. Adjust Intensity so the purpose is visible across the image without covering the details needed for the review.
  4. Download, reopen and inspect the saved copy. Keep required filing originals separately.

Name the actual permit representative

Replace every bracket with the real recipient, employer and date. A purpose across the image remains attached when the file is forwarded outside the original email.

The label is optional. It is not an official TCI stamp, certification, identity verification or guarantee against misuse. It also does not conceal the information beneath it.

Do not place a mark on an official submission that must remain unchanged. Keep the employer’s pre-check reference separate from the certified evidence that the government process requires.

Check the saved copy

Choose JPG, PNG, supported HEIC or PDF up to 25 MB. Only the first ten pages of an input PDF are processed. Download JPG or an image-based PDF; selectable text, fillable fields and digital signatures are not preserved. Keep any original signed or fillable file.

The document is processed in your browser without an account or document upload. The downloaded copy removes camera metadata and leaves the source unchanged.

Use Photo to PDF for the layout, Compress for an attachment ceiling, Watermark for an agreed purpose label or Hide details for agreed unnecessary fields. Save between tools and inspect the final downloaded file.

Common questions

Is a watermark required for a TCI permit application?

No watermark requirement is established here. The workflow is an optional agent pre-check reference copy accepted by the recipient.

Does the mark turn a police record into a certified copy?

No. Keep the certified or original record required for the actual filing. A browser-applied purpose label adds no certification.

Is the source document uploaded to add the mark?

No. Processing stays in your browser without a document upload or account. The source is unchanged and camera metadata is removed from the downloaded copy.

Does a watermark password-protect the agent’s PDF?

No. It adds visible wording for the accepted pre-check recipient and purpose. It does not encrypt the file or replace the certified evidence required for the official submission.
