BVI driving licence renewal: form and identity

For BVI driving licence renewal, prepare the renewal form, your current or expired Virgin Islands licence and proof of immigration status. The official service requires attendance for the eye-examination process or an accepted licensed eye doctor’s result, with extra medical evidence for age 70 or over.

Prepare the official request

  1. Download the DMV renewal form and match its details to your existing licence.
  2. Prepare the current or expired Virgin Islands licence and proof of immigration status.
  3. Check the eye-examination instruction and whether you need the medical report for applicants aged 70 or over.
  4. Attend DMV through the current service arrangement, submit the evidence and complete the photograph and examination requirements.
  5. Confirm the applicable renewal period and fee, then keep the receipt and issued-licence instructions.

Keep the right evidence

The service page contains a summary charge and a separate term-based fee table. Confirm the current fee for your renewal directly with DMV before paying, especially if you are using an older saved form. Do not confuse a booking catalogue’s appointment price with the actual licence charge.

A lost licence, legal name change and expiring licence are distinct situations. If more than one applies, tell DMV before attending so you bring the evidence for the complete case. A phone scan can help identify the card number but does not replace the department’s original-document or eye-examination requirements.

If a recipient accepts a personal working copy, you can reduce an accepted reference scan. The result is an image-based PDF or JPG. It does not preserve selectable PDF text, interactive fields or an original digital signature. Keep this output separate from any original, certified copy or unchanged official file required for submission.

For status evidence involved in another process, see LMS work permit renewal. For a separate identity record, see BVI birth certificates.

Questions

Can someone attend the eye examination for me?

No. The service says the examination cannot be completed by a proxy; it also describes providing results from a licensed eye doctor.

Is there an extra requirement at age 70?

The service requires a medical report for applicants aged 70 or over, including a comprehensive eye examination.

Does the booking price show the licence fee?

Do not assume it does. Confirm the actual licence renewal charge and period with DMV.

My documents used to be all scattered through my gallery, I managed to organize them all. I personally like the watermark feature… I used it a lot while traveling, it makes sharing IDs much safer… it stamps a copy with the name of the company you are sharing with (say, an AirBnb or a car rental). It’s still a bit rough around the edges but it’s a new app and the dev seems to be working on it. Price is alright given it’s a one time payment.. one less subscription!
