BVI police certificate: form, passport and authority
The BVI police-certificate service asks for a completed signed application, the original valid passport and recent passport photographs. If someone applies or collects for another person, the official instructions require a permission letter.
Prepare the official request
- Download the official application form and enter your identity, passport details and reason for requesting the certificate.
- State the number of certificates and answer the record-history questions accurately.
- Prepare the original valid passport and the number of recent photographs required for your order.
- Add a proxy permission letter if another person is acting for you and confirm the current fee.
- Submit through the Police administration route, retain the payment receipt and use it as instructed for collection.
Keep the right evidence
The public service page identifies the Road Town Police Station administration route. Follow its current directions if you are outside the Territory or need someone to act for you. A proxy letter authorises a particular action; it does not make a passport scan an original passport.
Check the name and certificate purpose before you leave or submit it onward. Keep the issued certificate intact, along with the application receipt. Confirm how recent the certificate must be for the receiving institution instead of assuming the collection period sets its validity.
If a recipient accepts a personal working copy, you can label a separately agreed reference copy. A watermark states a purpose; it does not conceal data or certify a document. Exported files are image-based and do not preserve original digital signatures or selectable PDF text. Keep this output separate from any original, certified copy or unchanged official file required for submission.
