Free Aadhaar and PAN tools: PDF, compression, watermark and masking
Choose a free tool for your Indian document copy: arrange card photos in a PDF, compress to a form's limit, add optional recipient text or mask unnecessary details. Confirm the recipient's requirements and keep the official issuer original for verification.
- Watermark ID copiesMark an accepted reference copy for its recipient. Keep the official electronic original separately.
- Compress to KBFit a scan, PDF or photo under the size your form asks for. Nothing is uploaded.
- Aadhaar and PAN to PDFArrange card photos on an A4 sheet for an accepted reference copy. Your files stay in the browser.
- Mask Aadhaar digitsHide the first 8 digits, leaving the last 4 visible. Get UIDAI’s official Masked Aadhaar separately.
Choose the job you need
| What you are asked for | Free tool | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Card photos arranged in a PDF | Aadhaar and PAN to PDF | Card versus full-page document, sides, paper and scale |
| An Aadhaar copy showing only the last 4 digits | Mask Aadhaar | Every place the number is printed, and that the recipient does not need the full number |
| A photo, scan or PDF under a size in KB | Compress to KB | The portal's maximum and minimum, and that the text still reads |
| A separate reference copy with recipient text | Watermark ID copies | Whether the receiver accepts a marked image, before adding text |
The examples are an Aadhaar card, a PAN card and a passport. The demonstrations use fictional Indian specimens, marked as specimens; a copy you save is not an official document.
Inputs, outputs and limits
Choose JPG, PNG, HEIC or PDF up to 25 MB. The first ten pages of a PDF are used. A password-protected PDF, such as the e-Aadhaar downloaded from UIDAI, cannot be opened here: use a photo or scan of the card or letter instead.
Download saves JPG or PDF, and location and other camera details are removed. A PDF exported here contains images of the pages, so selectable text, digital signatures and form fields are not kept. Keep the original file.
Each tool crops a photo to the document's edges by itself and offers Rotate and Blur. To mask and then compress the same copy, save the masked result and open it in Compress.
What Indian forms ask for
UIDAI's official Masked Aadhaar shows only the last four digits. Applying that visible pattern to a photo here creates an edited copy, not the issuer document. Upload limits come from each portal, so read the current form's format, size and pixel instructions. A watermark or redaction is appropriate only when the receiver accepts the edited reference copy; these sources do not establish universal acceptance.
For an issuer download, read Masked Aadhaar, DigiLocker documents or Instant e-PAN.
No document upload or account
The browser reads your chosen file and draws the copy on your device. Once the page has loaded, processing works offline. The website does not store your document; you decide where to keep the download.
For repeated use, Dokus keeps originals encrypted on your iPhone and shares masked or smaller copies. Its free tier includes all sharing tools and optional iCloud sync, with five documents included.
Common questions
Are these tools free?
Yes. No account or document upload is needed. Choose the tool, check the preview and save your copy.
Can I open my e-Aadhaar PDF here?
Not while it is password protected. Download the masked e-Aadhaar from UIDAI, or use a photo or scan of your Aadhaar card or letter.
Are the example documents real?
No. The demonstrations use fictional Indian specimens with invented details, marked as specimens.
